02 Days – Kibale Forest National Park

Overview: Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. It is home to 13 species of primates, including the highest density of Chimpanzees (over 1,450 individuals). This 2-day safari is perfect for a quick but immersive primate experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer to Kibale & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Depart Kampala early morning (approx. 7:00 AM) and drive west via Fort Portal. The journey takes you through lush tea plantations and crater lakes regions.

In the afternoon, proceed to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided swamp walk. This is a birders paradise (Great Blue Turaco) and home to smaller primates like the Red Colobus and L'Hoest monkeys.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking & Return to Kampala

After an early breakfast, head to the Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a briefing at 8:00 AM. Enter the forest with expert rangers to track the Chimpanzees.

Once located, you will spend one hour observing them as they feed, play, and groom. After the trek, enjoy lunch and begin the transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe, arriving in the evening.
